Moment K9 bites his HANDLER as the officer hurls young man to the ground during Spring Break

A police dog bit his own handler after the officer threw a young man to the ground during another chaotic Spring Break incident this week.

Shocking video uploaded on Monday shows a K-9 Unit officer yelling at a group of Spring Breakers at a parking lot and using the dog to get them away as another officer appears to be arresting one of the bikini-clad revelers.

While the officer yells at a woman in a bikini, a young man in a red cap looks to intervene. After the woman storms off, the officer then follows the young man, who puts his hands up for a moment as he walks away.

The officer suddenly make a grab for the man, who puts his hands up one last time before being tackled to the ground.

As onlookers scream and insist that the young man ‘didn’t do anything,’ the officer’s dog becomes agitated and bites his own handler, who yells at the dog.

‘Oh my god. He’s biting him,’ one of the onlookers yelled. ‘He’s biting his a**. ‘

The female officer who was arresting the bikini-clad women and another cop then rush in to help the cop as the dog heels.

The footage cuts away as the K9 unit officers backs away with his dog as one of the other officers remains with the young man on the floor.

It is not clear from the video in what beach town the incident took place.

However, it comes after police in Panama City Beach, Florida, a popular party destination for college students, confiscated 75 illegal guns – enough to supply a ‘small army’ – and arrested more than 160 ‘pathetic cowards’ over the weekend.

In a separate video, police officers could also be seen unleashing at least one drug hound on the town’s beach on the same day as the gun bust, prompting dozens of revelers to run and disperse themselves along the white sands.

‘These guns were taken over a period of two days,’ Beach Police Chief J.R. Talamantez said, the Panama City News Herald reported. ‘It could arm a small army. Semiautomatic weapons, long rifles – these are weapons brought to a resort destination. These are weapons brought to a beach.’

The beach town also saw an uptick in violence over the weekend, including a Sunday shooting that left one person injured.

Talamantez on Monday warned that the criminals plaguing Florida’s beaches ‘will soon find out what justice looks like.’

‘Right here, today, we stand united as not only law enforcement officials, not only as city leadership or county leadership, but just as citizens of Bay County,’ Talamantez said.

‘What we saw this past weekend is absolutely unacceptable, period. These pathetic cowards who came and committed these crimes – their actions will not be tolerated.’

Despite the number of weapons seized in Panama City, police said only one shooting was reported over the weekend.

An unnamed 21-year-old from Alabama was shot in the foot around 4.30pm Sunday near a local Waffle House restaurant, WVTM reported. The young adult sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Six people, including accused gunman Javonte Sanders, are currently in custody in connection to the shooting.

Police allege Sanders, 22, of Cropwell, Alabama, discharged the weapon that struck the victim. He is being held on gun-related charges and the shooting is still under investigation.

Talamantez told the TV station officers initially responded to the area after they found several people with guns, including automatic weapons.

Police recovered 26 shell casings at the scene from three different weapons – a 9mm, .40 caliber and a .45 caliber.

Authorities did not indicate which gun was allegedly fired by Sanders.

The chaos comes after Miami Beach was forced to impose a 6 p.m. curfew on weekends to shoo away the roaming packs of Spring Breakers wreaking havoc on the South Florida city.

Miami Beach officials have spent recent years trying to control the raucous crowds, public drinking and growing violence associated with the city’s world-famous South Beach neighborhood during spring break.

Business owners claim they’re being unfairly targeted by regulations, and civil rights advocates say the city is trying to scare away Black tourists who make up many of the visitors.

Two shootings that wounded five people last weekend, prompting the city to impose an emergency midnight curfew this weekend, have refocused attention on the glamorous waterfront’s future – as an entertainment district or something else entirely. The city’s mayor, a Democrat, insists the crackdown is about bad behavior, not race.

The 10-block stretch of Ocean Drive known for art deco hotels, restaurants and bars lies between areas that cater to more affluent tourists, as well as locals.

Many longtime residents have learned to treat spring break like a hurricane: Stay inside and hunker down until it’s over.

Mayor Dan Gelber said spring break and several holiday weekends throughout the year have been a problem for the city since before he took office in 2017.

He sees the long-term solution as a fundamental change in the area around Ocean Drive from an entertainment district to a cultural district, replacing all-night bars and clubs with residential development and boutique offices.

‘Now, we have this business model of big drinks and large volumes all night long with tens of thousands of people,’ Gelber said. ‘Which really just doesn´t work for our city.’

Gelber said he is still pursing a 2 a.m. South Beach alcohol ban, which was blocked by a circuit court judge earlier this month. Last call is 5 a.m. throughout most of Miami Beach, and South Beach businesses have been pushing back against the proposed rule that targets only their part of town.
