This is the shocking moment a ‘stupid’ teenager risked his life by climbing down the face of a 100ft cliff.
Coastguard officers spotted the reckless man, who they believe was in his late teens, climbing down the left side of Durdle Door in Lulworth, Dorset.
He climbed a fair way down the cliff on his hands and knees then sat down and chatted on his mobile phone before making his way back up the cliff to safety.
While this was going on, coastguard monitored the situation from a distance as they could not risk putting one of their own in danger to assist the teenager.

It was one of the busiest days of the year for the coastguard in that area who had to deal with multiple incidents including a middle aged man who was injured in a 50ft cliff fall at Durdle Door.
Andy Lakeman, deputy station officer at Lulworth coastguard, said: ‘There was a guy who was right on the edge of the cliff who was climbing down the cliff and being stupid.
‘That’s the level of things we are trying to deal with as we try to deal with other incidents. It’s an absolute nightmare.
‘It was on the left hand side of Durdle Door and the man, who was maybe 18 to 20 years old, must have climbed a fair way down.
‘He then sat down, talked on his mobile phone and climbed back up to the top again.
‘All we could do was stand there and monitor him because we couldn’t risk putting someone else in danger to go and fetch him.
‘One wrong step and he would have been gone. It’s so dangerous.’
