Mother is left with a broken leg and ‘permanently disabled’ after ‘Dr Happy’ masseuse stamps on her during Thai massage

  • Pranom Tiengtrong visited ‘Dr Happy’ for a ‘walking massage’ at a Thai parlour
  • The mother-of-one claims she was left with a broken leg and dislocated ankle
  • A video of the Thai massage shows Kiattisak Chaiwimon roughly handling her
  • She claims to be left with a permanent disability and reported him to the police

A masseuse stamped on a customer allegedly leaving her with a broken leg and ‘permanently disabled’.

Pranom Tiengtrong visited the therapist, who calls himself ‘Dr Happy’, after suffering months of leg pain.

But the 46-year-old claims the massage left her in tears and she suffering from a broken femur and dislocated ankle.

The mother-of-one claims she has been left permanently disabled after being given the rough Thai massage in December last year and needs a wheelchair to get around.

Dr Happy, whose real name is Kiattisak Chaiwimon, can be seen in a video of the treatment standing on her small legs, then aggressively yanking her across the matt.

She was asked to lie down for an hour while the masseuse was seen to stamp on both of her legs.

Kiattisak was seen on video continuing to do the massage even though the customer had cried out in pain and asked him to stop.

Ms Tiengtrong, who works as a food seller, contacted police this month in Rayong, Thailand, to take action against the 21-year-old masseur after he allegedly ignored her requests for help.

She said she has been left with a permanent disability.

Ms Tiengtrong said: ‘I thought it was going to be a normal massage, with kneading and squeezing the muscles. I was a little confused when he asked me to lie down on the ground.’

The customer said that after the massage she felt that the part of the body that received treatment was getting worse.

She went to the hospital where medics performed x-rays and found that her thighbone was broken and her left angle was fractured and dislodged from the joint.

Ms Tiengtrong said she went to the home of ‘Dr Happy’ for the therapy.

She added: ‘I could not stand for a long time because my leg would be unbearably painful. It really affected my job – I could not cook or sell the food anymore. I had no income and my husband already left me because of that.’

Her neighbours have since been trying to contact the masseur as they held him responsible for her injuries but he was always unreachable, so they reported him to the police.

Ms Tiengtrong said she has been unable to afford medical costs of around 130,000 baht (£3,125) to treat the injury.

The massage worker was eventually found at his home last Wednesday by Rayong Provincial Health officers.

He said he studied the ‘walking massage’ from a respected parlour and that he was ‘famous in the neighbourhood’ for his massage.

Kiattisak, who claimed to have treated thousands of customers, said: ‘I remembered her coming to me and telling me that she had terrible pain around her hips. I touched her bone and knew immediately that her hips were slipped out of a joint.’

When being asked about the cause of Ms Tiengtrong’s bone fractures, he said that he might have stepped on her too hard.

‘I tried to adjust the bones into the right place by treading repeatedly on her thighs.

She cried in pain for many time but I told her to hang on because I felt the bones were almost connected to the joint. I didn’t realise that she cried because her bones were broken’, he added.

The masseur has now been fined for opening a medical facility without the correct license as he was not a registered traditional medic and his house was also not a licensed massage shop.
