‘Keep your opinions to yourself!’: Mother leaves a VERY scathing note for her child’s teacher after she criticised her daughter’s lunchbox

  • The Sydney mother told her daughter’s teacher to ‘keep her opinions to yourself’
  • She wrote the note on Friday morning and packed it in with her child’s lunch
  • The mother posed the note on Facebook and sparked a debate between parents

A mother has written a strong-worded note to her daughter’s teacher after she criticised her daughter’s lunch.

The Sydney mother wrote the note on Friday morning, telling the teacher to ‘keep her opinions to yourself’ unless she is willing to pay for her child’s food.

The note, which was packed into her daughter’s lunch, featured arrows pointing to a bottle of Apple and Raspberry Cordial and was posted onto Facebook.

Many users chimed in to discuss whether the mother or the teacher was in the right.

‘Unless you are going to ”pay” $$$ for my child’s packed lunch and supply her with drink, then keep your opinions to yourself and stop telling my child what she can or can’t have in her lunch box,’ the note read.

Some other Facebook users said the teacher had a fair point if the child was drinking lots of cordial, but the mother claims the bottle was filled with water mixed with two capsules of hydrolyte.

Should teachers be able to tell parents if they think a child’s lunch is unsuitable?

‘The point is the teachers should stick to their curriculum and what they were taught in university, and let me do the parenting,’ the mother commented.

Other parents chimed in and defended the mother, claiming they could relate to a child who is a fussy eater.

‘Yes. She may have written a confronting letter but how do we know what she’s put up with at her child’s school?’ one mother wrote.

Others defended the teacher and argued she was doing her job as ensuring children eat healthily is also part of a school’s curriculum.

‘It is a syllabus requirement, not an opinion and lucky there is a requirement to teach this or else we would be starting an epidemic of children eating the worst food for their development,’ one user said.
