Mother-of-four’ called ‘hard b***’ in salesman’s quote

A mother-of-four has spoken of her fury after a heating salesman wrote ‘Mrs was a hard b**** and only wanted figures’ on a quote.

Ruth Kitcher-Paige, from East Morton in West Yorkshire, was left upset following the additional comments that were mistakenly left by the Heart Heating Solutions salesman on their quote.

The 36-year-old and her husband Richard, 44, had already had two ‘no shows’ from the salesman.

When the salesman arrived on the third arranged appointment yesterday, Mrs Kitcher-Paige simply asked to see the figures following the two previous disappointments.

‘If it had been a man asking for the figures, he would have said the husband was playing hardball,’ said Mrs Kitcher-Paige, a former saleswoman turned full-time mother.

‘But because I am a woman, he decides to call me a “hard b****”.

‘I am just so cross that this has been said about me and the fact he has been so slack to keep the comments on the quote.

‘Everyone who knows me, knows I am the softest person ever.’

Heart Heating Solutions first got in touch by cold calling her husband Richard and he arranged for a home visit after being told how they could save the family money through the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive.

However, the family say they will not be touching the company with a ‘barge pole’ following the description of Mrs Kitcher-Paige as a ‘hard b****’.

Mrs Kitcher-Paige posted about the letter on Facebook, where it has been shared by numerous people to a variety of local groups.

The salesman’s notes read: ‘£500 cashback offered. Didn’t expect me to turn up as previous appointments hadn’t! Given an hour then asked to leave as they had to collect kids from school. Mrs was hard b**** and only wanted figures.

‘Nothing else. Delivered price then had to leave. Appointment time deliberately arranged to terminate presentation early. Call on 29th for a decision.’

Her husband has made an official complaint to the company in an email and has demanded an apology be made to his wife.

In the complaint, Richard wrote: ‘Yesterday, your representative attended my home in order to ‘pitch’ your ASHP (Air source heat pumps) product. I wish to make a complaint about the visit.

‘The primary basis of the complaint is the subsequent email that I received which included (salesman’s name) report, during which he described my wife as ‘a hard b****’.

‘Clearly this is unacceptable and my wife looks forward to receiving a written apology forthwith. A gesture of goodwill may also go a long way.

‘My wife likes flowers. Suffice to say, even if it had been our intention to proceed with a purchase, after receipt of the email, we would have been looking for a different supplier.’

MailOnline has contacted Heart Heating Solutions for comment.
