A mother-of-three who went out for a morning coffee with friends was found dead in her garage later that afternoon.

The death of Samantha Fraser, 38, is being treated as suspicious and has devastated the tight-knit community in Phillip Island, Victoria.

Ms Fraser’s body was found in her home garage on Monday afternoon.

Police were alerted when the psychologist at the local Cowes Medical Centre missed a 12pm appointment.

Ms Fraser also didn’t arrive to pick up her children from a local primary school in the afternoon. 

Police conducted a welfare check at her Seagrove Way, Phillip Island home only to find her dead.

‘Sam was a beautiful woman. She was kind and caring. Generous with her time, a devoted mother and she lived for the children,’ Alice told 9 News.

She leaves behind three children, Jemima, Rex and April.  

Friends have created an online fundraiser and raised more than $13,000 for the family.

Tributes to the late mother have also poured in on a Facebook fundraising page. 

‘So beautiful inside and out. Our coffee date last week will be treasured forever. Thinking of everyone affected especially your beautiful children, so so sad,’ one woman said. 

‘Deepest condolences, our thoughts and prayers are with Sam’s family and her children,’ another said.

Ms Fraser’s death has been deemed as suspicious by homicide detectives.

Police talked to a man, 42, from Paynesville who was known to Ms Fraser but he has been released without charge. 

Police urge anyone who can provide information on Ms Fraser’s whereabouts in the hours before her death to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
