A mother-of-two from Melbourne has taken to Facebook to express her annoyance at the judgement still placed on mums.
Mel Griffiths, 28, said that mothers in 2017 are ‘damned if you do and damned if you don’t’ and expressed that she has ‘had enough’.
‘Society [can] kindly f**** off. The perfect parent brigade can keep their opinion to themselves,’ she wrote.

She has taken to Facebook to express her annoyance at the judgement still placed on mums
Mel, who writes at My Wandering Journey, often expresses her opinions and beliefs on her page.
In this post in particular she has shared the disapproval that many mothers face.
‘”You’re breastfeeding? You’re just feeding in public for attention, put your t*ts away”,’ she wrote.
‘”Formula Feeding? Don’t you want what is best for your baby? You are a selfish mother”.
‘You’re breastfeeding? ‘You’re just feeding in public for attention, put your t*ts away” she said
‘”You’re a stay at home mum? So you sit around all day and do nothing?”
‘”Your child doesn’t go to day care and doesn’t get to socialise with other kids their age?”
‘”Oh your child does go to day care once a twice a week…. so you really do nothing all day then? Don’t you want to contribute to your family?”‘ she continued.
And the judgements don’t end there, according to the fed-up mum.
Mel, who writes at My Wandering Journey, often expresses her opinions and beliefs on her page
‘”You work FULL-TIME?! Don’t you want to be a mum? Don’t you love your kids? Don’t you feel guilty putting your child into day care every day?”.’ she wrote
“You let your baby cry it out? Disgusting. You pick your baby up when they cry? They will be sooks when they grow up.’
The mum said that this was the ‘constant abuse, harassment and added guilt’ mothers feel every day.
Sitting around all day and not contributing to the family are some of the criticisms Mel believes stay at home mums experience
‘I have had enough. I am so beyond frustrated seeing posts of the anxious mums wondering if they are doing the wrong thing for their child because some family member they haven’t spoken to in three years, that doesn’t even have kids, is friggin questioning their parenting,’ she said.
‘It’s not OK.
‘If a mum decides that formula is best for HER and HER BABY then I am sorry, Aunt Betsy, she doesn’t need to hear how she should give breastfeeding ‘one more chance’ because some hippy from the 70s waved a magic twig and fixed your issues.
The aim of Mel’s post was to highlight the myriad of persecution that mums see on a day-to-day basis
Mel explained that the decision a mum makes is normally a decision they’ve thought long and hard about
‘As mums we fret over EVERY. SINGLE. DECISION we make. But while we are stressing over everything that could go wrong; generally we have a pretty damn good idea of what WE and OUR babies need.’
‘So society kind kindly f*** off. The perfect parent brigade can keep their opinion to themselves.’
She encouraged mums to stand up for each other and continue to spread ‘acceptance’, ‘respect’ and ‘love’.

‘Because we mums…WE GOT THIS,’ she wrote.
‘Whether we co-sleep or not; formula feed or breastfeed; work or don’t work; put our kids in day care or keep them home, we as parents have got this.
‘If we stand together, stand up for each other and keep spreading acceptance, respect and love, then our kids are going to grow up in a much better world than the one we are currently in.’
