Michelle Lowe, from Newport, Wales, shared her trick for tackling her daughter’s ‘thick and curly’ hair with the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, revealing she uses a £6.99 de-tangling conditioner by Aunt Jackie’s, combined with the Denman D90 Tangle Tamer and some argan oil.

In a post that has gathered 284 likes and 460 comments, the mother wrote: ‘For anyone who struggles with their daughter’s hair this combination is amazing.

‘My daughter has very thick curly hair and it gets matted just by washing it. I’ve tried absolutely everything and I’ve finally found something that works and doesn’t rip her hair out cause screaming fits every time I brush her hair.

‘Hope this helps anyone with hair like my daughters,’ she added.

The conditioner, called ‘Knot On My Watch’, is from the Aunt Jackie’s haircare line. It retails at £6.99 on Amazon but can also be purchased for £5 on Ebay.

Michelle combined it with some argan oil and Denman’s Tangle Tamer Brush, which costs between £5.50 and £6.99 depending on shops.

In a subsequent comment, Michelle added that the brush was the only one she could get through her daughter’s hair and added that the combination of the three product as ‘a dream come true.’

The detangling brush also received some love, as one mother wrote:  ‘I have this brush, brilliant.’

Some users also suggested that the conditioner could be found for cheaper in shops that specialised in Afro hair.

‘Love aunt Jackies! Go into any Afro hair shop will be fraction of what you pay on Ebay and wider range of their products,’ recommended another.

And many desperate users were delighted about the recommendation and said they would be trying it themselves.

‘I need this shampoo, my hair is the worst,’ wrote one.

‘I use argan oil on my little girl but it is really expensive. Thanks for the share,’ wrote another.

‘You, lady, are quite possibly the answer to my prayers!!! I have an almost five-year-old old with waist-length hair and doing her hair is like a MMA match with a drunk octopus! If this works I will owe you a serious drink, my friend,’ wrote one.
