Mother shares honest depiction of what information mums versus dads leave for the babysitter

‘He thinks I’m crazy’: Mother-of-three shares hilarious comparison of the instructions she leaves for the babysitter – versus the VERY simple note left by her husband

  • A mother has shared photos of the information she left for her family babysitter
  • The notes are detailed, have multiple pages and there is a page for each child
  • Laura Mazza compared it to a photo of the information her husband leaves
  • Ms Mazza said leaving her children when she goes out gives her anxiety

A mother-of-three has left the internet in hysterics after posting a photo of the extensive notes she leaves for the babysitter – versus the very simple one left by her husband.

Laura Mazza, from Melbourne, who blogs at Mum on the Run, shared two photos of the different notes left by them both before they left for a wedding recently.

Ms Mazza left behind detailed notes on coloured paper explaining the different routines for each child, emergency numbers and what food they should eat for snacks and dinner.

Her husband simply left a torn piece of paper with both of their numbers scribbled on it – along with his mother’s details.

‘I don’t even need to tell you which is which. Oh the anxiety of leaving your children with someone is real, right?’ She captioned the photo.

‘I’d like to say that those notes are the only ones, but I’ve labelled everything around the house, including the bathroom.

‘I’ve also made her come two hours earlier so I can run through everything. Poor girl.’

Ms Mazza joked that she should have labelled the wine as well as ‘she’ll need it’, although she said she wouldn’t want her to drink too much as she’d want her to remain sober.

'My husband thinks I'm crazy, but this is just preparedness. Tell me I'm not alone? Lol I'm chanting "it's all going to be fine, all going to be fine, all going to be fine",' she added (pictured is the pair together)

Laura said she had considered not attending the wedding altogether but it wasn’t an option as she had already RSVP’d.

The comment section was filled with words of support and people shared similar stories.

‘Oh the memories… I so remember those post-it notes, colour coded as well,’ one person commented.

‘You’re totally not alone. I wrote a five times A4 page manual for my sister when we went away for 3 nights. Enjoy your night off, it’ll all be okay!’ Said another.

Those who babysit children also shared what they thought about the detailed notes.

‘As someone who used to watch kids, this is super helpful! It saves me hunting for cutlery, spare nappies and wipes etc!’ One of them said.

Another babysitter said that this kind of information is extremely helpful.

‘I actually send clients a form to fill out with their expectations, routines and other things I need to know,’ she said.

‘Notes are helpful! Especially when something pops up e.g. kids try and sneak a second dessert and it saves us having to threaten to call you because you’ve written ONE bowl of ice cream on a note.’
