Motorcyclist dies after losing control and slamming into a SUV and truck
- A man has died following a multi-vehicle accident in Melbourne’s west
- The fatal collision happened on the Western Ring Road at 12.25am Thursday
- The motorcyclist died at the scene, the other drivers sustained minor injuries
Motorists are facing major delays in Melbourne’s west after a motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle accident.
The rider died at the scene after he collided with a Honda CR-V and a truck on the Western Ring Road at the Princess Freeway on-ramp about 12.25am on Thursday.
Police have shut down part of the Western Ring Road while they investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.

The driver of the Honda, a man in his 40s, was uninjured but his male passenger was trapped in the vehicle before being freed by emergency crews and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the truck, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital and treated for shock.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Hill said the collision happened when the rider lost control of his bike.
‘Unfortunately as he (the rider) rounded the right-hand bend he has lost control of his motorbike and slid down the road,’ Detective Sergeant Hill told reporters.

‘One vehicle has stopped. A truck that was following that vehicle was unable to stop and has collided with the rear of the vehicle.
‘And has then collided with the motorbike.’
Police have appealed for anyone with DashCam footage to come forward.
