Melbourne mum, Ange, has gone viral on TikTok with her handy hack that transforms old passata jars into a chic pantry storage solution using $22 worth of spray paint from Bunnings

In the clip, Ange starts with the two passata jars that have been cleaned and have the old sticker removed.

She places a rectangular sticker on the front making sure it’s straight and in the centre.

Ange then takes the jars outside and thoroughly coats them in the black spray paint.

She also coats the lids in the rose gold spray paint and leaves them to dry.

Once the jars are dry, she peels the sticker off the front creating a small window to be able to see the contents inside.

Ange uses the jars to store pine nuts and walnuts and said they match her Russel and Hobbs kettle and toaster perfectly.

Many viewers were quick to praise the ‘genius’ hack.

‘They look fantastic!! Great idea!’ one woman said.

‘Not often I am impressed with stuff like this, but good job!’ wrote another.

Many commenters were concerned the paint would cause a smell or not be food safe.

‘No smell after the paint is dry so the pantry is fine. Didn’t spray the inside so as food safe as it ever was,’ Ange responded.

Others suggested coating the jars in a primer to ensure the paint doesn’t scratch off.
