The day on a plate that gave me the ‘best body of my life’: How mum-of-three, 25, lost 33kg without giving up cake, nachos or her daily coffee
- Shan Butcher, who lives in Tamworth, lost 33 kilos using The Healthy Mummy
- She came across the mummy-focused lifestyle app five years ago
- That’s when the 25-year-old decided to try its 28 Day Workout Challenge
- In a typical day she will enjoy a smoothie, beef nachos and beef stroganoff
A young mum-of-three has confessed that eating banana cake, nachos and beef stroganoff every day has still allowed her to lose 33 kilos and have three successful pregnancies.
Shan Butcher, 25, joined The Healthy Mummy 28 Day Challenge almost five years ago after coming across an advertisement on social media.
While the program focused primarily on balanced eating and regular workouts Shan was surprised by just how simple it was to make the switch without losing some of her favourite snacks and coffee order every day.
‘It’s okay to stop along the way just don’t give up! I have stopped… it has taken me 4.5 years to get here and three babies in that time,’ the mum from Tamworth, NSW, said.

‘I’m so much fitter and have so much more energy! I have never ever been so confident in my body. My mental health hasn’t ever been this good either.’
She tries to incorporate smoothies, protein powder and apple cider vinegar tablets into her diet to maintain the weight loss and her favourite recipes to make for her family are nachos and easy loaded chicken bake.
Shan recommends watching your calories, setting reasonable goals to work towards and staying positive throughout the process to ensure you stay on track.

On a typical day Shan will enjoy a Healthy Mummy smoothie and a cappuccino with skim milk for breakfast, followed by a protein bar or banana cake for a mid-morning snack.
Lunch could be beef nachos or BBQ chicken with veggies, with a pre-dinner snack of wholemeal choc chips or a Fibre One bar.
Dinner would usually be beef stroganoff and dessert is a choc lava microwave cake.

‘This month marks my five years with The Healthy Mummy,’ she said.
‘My journeys haven’t been easy… I have had to start over three times after each pregnancy. But I can finally say I have made it! This is the smallest I have ever been in my life.
‘Anything is possible! It is possible to change your life and become who you want to be.’
