A mum has wowed thousands after sharing her incredible camping setup using Kmart items ahead of the Easter long weekend, but eagle-eyed Aussies can’t get over the fact that she keeps the kettle and cooktop inside her tent because it’s not safe.
The woman, called Kati, posted on Facebook, where she shared pictures of her ‘Kamping dining room’.
Kati wrote: ‘When you land somewhere between camping and glamping and it’s made possibly by Kmart… this is our “Kamping” dining room’.
A mum has wowed thousands after sharing her incredible camping setup using Kmart items ahead of the Easter long weekend, but some didn’t like one small detail
The tent includes various items from Kmart, such as the large modular storage drawers ($19), pantry labels, water dispenser, baby barbecue, camping tables and tiny logs for seating.
The drawers are divided into sections like ‘meals’, ‘crockery and cutlery’, ‘snacks’, ‘cooking utensils’ and ‘towels and toiletries’.
Kati said while she has only started camping this year, she is ‘obsessed with organisation’ and so couldn’t wait to make sure she and her family were perfectly organised for a week away.
While thousands were impressed with the organisation, a few pointed out that she shouldn’t be cooking or using a kettle inside the tent (setup pictured)
While many were impressed with the setup, writing things like ‘this is awesome’ and ‘you look like pro campers’, there were a few who took umbrage with the fact that she stores a mini barbecue and kettle inside the tent.
‘Please don’t use the cooking stove and kettle in the area,’ one woman wrote.
Another posted: ‘Not sure I would bbq inside there’.
But Kati was quick to leap to her own defence and wrote: ‘I said dining room, not kitchen. We don’t cook in here’.
She clarified that she keeps all of the equipment in there so it’s easy and accessible, and then takes it outside when they need to cook or boil the kettle.
The mum admitted that it’s her ‘dining area’ not her kitchen and so she always brings those items outside when she wants to cook (area pictured)
Others were more concerned about logistics, and how she manages to transport her Kmart dining room on the road.
‘Curious how you transport the drawers full of stuff? As in do they stay closed when moving/driving or do you add stuff when you are setting up camp?’ one person asked.
Kati responded, writing: ‘Just put a band of sticky tape on them and the drawers won’t come out when transporting’.
However, the vast majority were in awe of ‘how easy’ this setup would make unpacking and packing up.
‘Looks amazing! Kmart should use these in their catalogue it looks that great,’ one person wrote.
