Popular Australian mummy blogger Sophie Cachia has written a candid post online – revealing how she and her husband tried sex as a way to help induce the birth of their second child.
In a blog post, Ms Cachia, 26, who is otherwise known as The Young Mummy, told her followers just how the birth of baby Florence came about.
‘I instructed Jaryd to go into the bathroom for some alone time with himself and his… hand,’ she wrote in her post.

‘Put a fork in me, I’m done,’ Sophie captioned for this photo weeks before giving birth to her daughter
‘They say that sex brings on a baby, when in fact I learnt it’s actually the semen itself that can have an impact.’
The mother-of-two, who has almost 230,000 followers on Instagram, explained that she was at the 42 week mark with her second child when the decision came to her.
She had burst into tears because she hadn’t yet gone into labour.

Ms Cachia said research indicated that bathing in Clary Sage Oil, eating pineapple and having sex were the tricks to getting your baby to arrive, so she did all three
As a result, she said that she was a ‘crazy overdue pregnant woman’ who was googling which natural ways would start the birthing process.

Once bathing in the oil and eating a whole pineapple didn’t do anything there was only one option left – sex.

Sophie gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who is now seven months old, and the couple have named Florence (pictured)
‘When you’re an overdue sweaty walrus and you need this baby to come out, you do what you gotta do,’ she wrote.
‘And when you’re the husband of this highly hormonal overdue sweaty walrus, you do what you’re told.’
She explained to readers that semen helps ‘soften the cervix’ and the same hormone that causes contractions is also ‘released during orgasm’.

‘Sex was literally the last thing on my mind, so as I got in position on hands and knees, whilst eating an apple and watching Suits, Jaryd came from behind and did what he needed to do. Literally,’ she wrote.
‘NOW – call it a coincidence or absolute pure genius on my behalf, but at about midnight I started to have really light, irregular contractions.’
At first, she didn’t think much of this as it wasn’t unusual overnight and in the morning.
‘But when they were enough to wake me up again and again after I’d doze off for a bit, my mind starting ticking,’ she wrote.
‘I’ve spent days, weeks, months and years TRYING to describe certain things to family, friends and followers about the beautiful/hideous process that labour is’
After a call to her mother, sister and the assessment centre at the hospital it was confirmed she was going into labour.
Ms Cachia famously live-streamed the process on snapchat to show what the ‘beautiful but hideous’ process was.
‘So according to the hospital I am in labour everybody… woo!’ she told her Snapchat followers on the day.
Before the birth Sophie had promised her followers that she would live stream herself going through labour
Later, she posted: ’12 hours later and my epidural has kicked in. Praise the lord. Shutting up shop, no more kids ever again. Seriously.’

At first the little girl was called Betty – but Ms Cachia later settled on Florence.
