Mum’s fancy school lunchbox for her daughter sparks heated debate

A dedicated mother has sparked a heated debate online after sharing the high-tech gadget her daughter takes to school with her in order to enjoy a hot packed lunch every day.

The woman posted on Facebook, where she shared a photo of the portable food warmer she swears by for keeping her child’s food hot for up to six hours at a time.

While many were impressed with the fancy gadget, others were baffled by the contents of her daughter’s lunch, which many compared to raw chicken, lunchbox meat or the processed canned pork, spam.

The woman, called Mandy, posted: ‘My daughter likes hot food and takes her hot meals to the school every day with her ec-heat food warmer, which can keep her food at above 60 degrees Celsius for at least six hours with just a typical power bank.

‘She can eat hot solid food such as rice and spaghetti. Although the spaghetti or rice is kept over six hours, the spaghetti won’t be too soft and the rice won’t be hard. Her teacher also asked why her daily meal looked so good.’

The specific heat food warmer that Mandy uses is from a Chinese company, but there are countless options on Amazon for around $90.

‘I thought the same thing, lol,’ another added.

A third wrote: ‘It looks like lunch meat’, while a fourth added: ‘This upsets me’.

Others were quick to jump to Mandy’s defence and explained that it was ‘definitely flaky salmon’.

‘It’s so obviously cooked salmon,’ one person wrote.

‘Good grief, have people never baked salmon in their lives?? That’s not raw chicken – it’s so obvious,’ another added.

Electric heated lunchboxes have a number of functions, including cooking rice, steaming eggs and keeping foods warm.

They heat foods quickly and equally, and claim to be easy to use as well as clean.
