Police have today released CCTV of the prime suspect in the murder of Kelly-Mary Fauvrelle who was seen sprinting from her home seconds after she was stabbed to death.
The hooded figure can also be seen calmly strolling towards her property in Thornton Heath where the eight-months pregnant Londoner was killed at 3.30am on Saturday.
Kelly-Mary’s baby boy, named Riley, was rescued from his dying mother’s womb but has been given a 50/50 chance of survival and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of Miss Fauvrelle’s murder – but were released under investigation – and now Met detectives appear to have identified their prime suspect.
In new CCTV released by Scotland Yard today the man they want to trace is seen walking towards Kelly’s address at around 3.15am on Saturday morning – just before the murder.
Around 10 minutes later, the same suspect can be seen running back along Raymead Avenue, away from Kelly’s address, toward Colliers Water Lane in Thornton Heath.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the investigation, and said today: ‘The release of this footage is the next step in what has been a fast-paced, and extremely challenging investigation.
‘We need to identify the man shown in the footage urgently, even if only to eliminate him from our enquiries. I need to hear from anyone who knows who he is. If this is you, it is imperative that you contact my team immediately.
DCI Norman continues to appeal for any witnesses, CCTV or footage or anyone with any information at all that could assist, to come forward.
He said: ‘A dedicated team of detectives are working day and night on this investigation.
‘We have assured Kelly’s family – and I want to assure local residents and the wider public too – that we are doing absolutely everything in our power to find the person responsible.
‘I am aware that there is some speculation about whether Kelly’s attacker was known to her. At this stage we simply are not in a position to say and we must retain an open mind.
‘One of the key aims of my investigation is to build a complete picture of Kelly’s life and the people with whom she was in contact, but I also need to consider other possible scenarios.
‘Members of the public may have useful information, and I am today reiterating my appeal for anyone who may know anything that will assist the investigation to make contact as soon as possible’

Tributes have been paid to the postal worker as her baby, who was delivered at the scene, remained critically ill in hospital.
A relative, who did not want to be named, said: ‘All I can tell you is that the girl died and they pulled the baby out.
‘It is 50/50 whether he will survive. News has travelled all over the world and we have family coming from all over the world, like France.
‘We just want to grieve and be left in peace.’
Miss Fauvrelle’s brother said ‘words can’t describe’ the pain of their family.
Relatives have gathered at the hospital bedside of the critically ill baby, who was named online as Riley.
Miss Fauvrelle’s brother Stephan Alexander Simpson posted on Facebook: ‘Words can’t describe the pain we’re feeling. You couldn’t have been a better sister and I thank you for always being there for me, helping whenever I needed it. A beautiful person whose life has been taken away from her.
‘I’ll stay strong, so you’ll always be in my thoughts. I love you more than you can possibly imagine.’ Miss Fauvrelle’s friends also paid tribute to her.
Opaline Meunier posted on Facebook: ‘Our sweetest, nicest Kellymary Fauvrelle was taken away from this world in the most brutal way.
‘I will always remember her as a lovely, so funny, joyful, sparkling and full of life friend. We shared so dear memories in English class.’

Aaleeah Knowles praised Miss Fauvrelle’s ‘business mind’ and protective nature.
She posted on Facebook: ‘I’m devastated to hear what happened to you. You didn’t deserve this. You’ve touched my soul and my emotions are all over the place for you.
‘I’ll never forget you because how could I. You were amazingly intelligent and bright and I’m just devastated, never forgotten.’
Meanwhile colleagues of Miss Fauvrelle, who worked at Croydon Delivery Office, said they are ‘in total shock’.
Dave Ward, general secretary of the Communication Workers Union (CWU), said: ‘Kelly leaves behind a baby fighting for their life, a family devastated by the loss and colleagues who are in total shock.
‘The union will do everything possible to help Kelly’s family and our members during this period.’
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of Miss Fauvrelle’s murder. One, aged 37, was released under investigation on Sunday, and a second, aged 29, was yesterday released until early August.
Police say they are keeping an open mind as to the motive.
Mr Ward called on the Government and London Mayor Sadiq Khan to reverse police cuts in the wake of the death. So far, 68 people have been murdered in the capital this year.
Mr Ward said: ‘Yet another loss of innocent life is utterly sickening. It is clear the gang culture and environment across the UK but particularly in London has reached a level where it just cannot go on.
‘The CWU calls for an immediate reversal of police cuts in London and across the UK as an absolute priority and we will link up with other organisations to pressure the Government and Mayor to act now.
‘The streets are not safe any more and this is not the world we should hand over to our children and grandchildren. Enough is enough.’

Britain’s blood-drenched heatwave weekend: Police launch SIX murder probes in 48 hours of violence as raging heat soared to 93F
Six people were killed around Britain in the last days in a weekend of violence.
Four people died in London, including a pregnant 26-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man was attacked and killed in Maldon, Essex, and a murder investigation was launched after the death of a 47-year-old in Llanelli, south Wales.
The four killings in London took the total number of homicides in the capital this year to 67.
The attacks unfolded on one of the hottest weekends of the year, with temperatures hitting 34C (93F) in west London.

The first murder investigation of the weekend was launched after grandfather Andre Yan Irwin was found fatally wounded on a street in Llanelli in the early hours of Saturday morning.
His family, who are being supported by specialist officers, later paid tribute to the ‘brilliant’ family man.
They said: ‘We are devastated at the sudden and tragic loss of a brilliant father, son, grandfather and fiancé.
‘Andre was a great role model for his grandchildren, and will be very sadly missed.’
Later on Saturday, paramedics rushed to an address in Thornton Heath but were unable to save the heavily pregnant mother Kelly-Mary Fauvrelle who had been stabbed at her home.
A 37-year-old man arrested on Saturday was released ‘under investigation’ after being questioned by detectives. A second man, aged 29, arrested later that day remains in custody.
Further violence flared in south London later when a man in his 50s died following a fight in Lambeth on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to Coldharbour Lane following reports of a fight where they found the injured 54-year-old.
The London Ambulance Service took the man to hospital but he was pronounced dead just after 10pm.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody. Police have appealed for anyone with mobile phone footage to get in touch.
That evening, in the market down of Maldon, Essex, a 27-year-old man was killed after a brutal attack outside an Iceland supermarket.
Another victim, 26, suffered a broken jaw in the assault which unfolded in the sleepy market town of Maldon, Essex, on Saturday night.
Local police say violence flared at around 9pm when three men attacked the two victims.
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and they remain in custody for questioning.
The violence continued later on Saturday night, when a man believed to be in his late 20s was stabbed to death in east London.
Police were called to the junction of Ron Leighton Way and Wakefield Street, Newham, at 11.07pm on Saturday where they found the man suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The final of the six weekends killings happened in London yesterday when an 18-year-old died after staggering into hospital with stab wounds.
Police had been called to reports of a fight in Southwark, south east London, just before 5am yesterday.
They arrested three men, two aged 22 and an 18-year-old, but could not find any trace of the victim until he turned up at hospital.
Despite efforts to save his life he was pronounced dead at 7.30am – just hours after the fight took place.
Det Chief Insp Neil John, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: ‘A number of arrests have been made but we urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us immediately to tell us what they know.
‘An 18-year-old has lost his life in violent circumstances and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened.’
