My Kitchen Rules ‘cheating’ scandal: Colin Fassnidge’s controversial act during finale stirs accusations sisters Radha and Prabha got help to win cooking show

Identical twins Radha and Prabha walked away winners in the nail-biting My Kitchen Rules finale on Tuesday.

But some fans have viewed the win as controversial because the sisters’ mother was on hand to offer cooking tips from the observation gallery.

At one point Radha and Prabha’s mum grew so vocal judge Colin Fassnidge said he would give her a ‘yellow card’ – a term umpires use in soccer when they penalise a player for a foul.

Known for his ‘laddish’ style, Fassnidge was clearly joking when he made the remark to Radha and Prabha’s mum.

But that hasn’t stopped fans slamming the sisters’ online.

‘If mum was coaching, twins should have been disqualified,’ messaged one MKR viewer on show’s official Facebook.

‘She was definitely coaching the girls which shouldn’t be allowed,’ said another.

‘Mum should not have been saying anything… it’s a competition,’ added another.

In a clip from the finale, Radha and Prabha’s mum can be seen yelling the sisters, asking detailed questions about how they are preparing a seafood dish.

‘How many people are cooking in here today?’ Colin asked at one point.

Obviously uncomfortable with the situation, Prabha told Colin: ‘Yeah, we got mum here today which is nice.’

Radha was less diplomatic, telling Colin her mum was ‘very vocal right now’.

Meanwhile, their mum joked she would like to come down into the kitchen.

‘What’s that mum? Do you want to come down mum?,’ Colin said smiling, before adding: ‘No you can’t. I’m going to give you a yellow card in a minute.’

The MKR finale kicked off with Colin announcing that the judges were expecting nothing less than a ‘perfect four-course’ meal.

The two teams then got to work, with Radha and Prabha, 26, preparing a spicy fish fry with yellow dhal while Nick, 36, and Christian, 34, made delicious bavette steaks with red wine jus for their opening dish.

Upon tasting both teams dishes after a gruelling cook off, the judges admitted they were both delicious and said the two sides had worked hard to prepare a great meal.

However only one team could be crowned winner, and the judges shocked the room by announcing that Radha and Prabha had inched out their competitors to a narrow victory.
