My Kitchen Rules fans notice glaring editing fail during cooking challenge – so can you spot it?

Eagle-eyed My Kitchen Rules fans have taken to social media to point out a shocking editing fail during Monday night’s cooking challenge.

Best mates Mike and Pete prepared a delectable Italian Gnocchi dish for the judges, as Mike paid tribute to European cooking by wearing a colourful bow tie inspired by the Italian flag.

However, viewers were quick to notice an apparent continuity error as Mike’s tie flipped around during a chat to the camera.

The red, white, and green accessory changed sides, with red facing left and then right as Mike expressed his relief that judge Manu Feildel liked their dish.

Viewers quickly took to social media to express their amusement at the apparent continuity error on the gripping cooking series.

‘That bloody tie was driving me nuts last night. Kept switching lol,’ one person sniped.

‘Maybe it’s a battery operated bow tie and twirls,’ a second person joked.

‘You have to remember MKR is shot over a couple of days, they actually do two cooks,’ a third person chipped in.

Another added: ‘Maybe they took it off during the cook and put it on when cameras were rolling.’

Last month, the beloved Channel Seven series returned to television screens for a brand new season.

However, the show got off to a shaky start for some viewers, with some complaining the program felt ‘scripted’.

MKR has had some teething issues since its return to television screens in recent years.

In September 2023, the premiere of the cooking competition’s 13th season managed to draw in just 470,000 viewers in the major capitals.

MKR did not even finish in the top ten most-watched programs overnight, a far cry from its ratings heyday a decade ago when it would pull in well over a million viewers an episode.

The series returned to Channel Seven in 2022, two years after it was axed.

Debuting to just 500,000 viewers, the show has continued to shed fans in the metro centres.
