My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel cuts a downcast figure

He had a heated clash with My Kitchen Rules contestant Olga earlier this week, after the Russian villain insisted he was giving ‘mixed messages’ as a judge.

And the argument seemed to be weighing heavy on Manu Feildel’s mind, as he cut a downcast figure while stepping out for lunch in Sydney on Friday.

The 43-year-old French chef looked decidedly sombre as he arrived at waterfront seafood eatery Flying Fish with a female friend.

Sombre: Manu Feildel cut a downcast figure while stepping out for lunch in Sydney on Friday – after his heated clash with My Kitchen Rules contestant Olga

The celebrity chef looked dapper for the relaxed outing in a navy cordury jacket and blue trousers.

The Masterchef Australia star injected a casual edge into the look with a white T-shirt and completed the outfit with tan leather brogues.

Manu’s glum outing comes after he butted heads with outspoken MKR contestant Olga, 33, on the show earlier this week.

The pair argued over the presentation of dishes and Russian cook Olga claimed Manu changes his mind over the way he likes food presented.

After Manu told Davide and Marco to perhaps use small dishes to help present their food, Olga interrupted: ‘We’re getting mixed messages, Manu! I’m getting mixed messages seriously.’

‘On one hand you say, “serve it how you serve it at home” and on the other, “do it individually,” it’s not how they serve it at home’.

Manu said he only intends to advise contestants, not instruct them: ‘It’s up to you guys at the end of the day,’ he clarified.

Giving Olga an example, Manu suggested that if her team were to cook cabbage in a big pot they could then serve it in ramekins for added presentation.

‘We cook them in there but we don’t serve it in there, we serve them on a plate and then it’s going to look disgusting, c’est la vie,’ an infuriated Olga said.

Manu hit back, arguing that he’s only trying to help the teams.  ‘I’m just trying to help at the end of the day, I’m not trying to go against you!’

About the clash, Georgia added about Olga: ‘You need to know when to shut your trap, basically.’

At one point, Olga’s rival Hadil stepped in and said to camera: ‘I’m sick of the bulls**t that comes out of her mouth!’

Feildel, who has been a judge on the cookery competition for nine seasons, said he didn’t hold a grudge against Olga however.

He said Olga and Hadil are ‘pretty strong-headed women’, but added: ‘I don’t mind that. I’m quite stubborn myself.’

Business consultant Olga, who is in a team with Valeria, previously said her ruthless competitive streak could lead to clashes.

‘To be honest we’re not here to make friends,’ Olga confessed.

‘If it happens as a collateral I don’t mind, however our primary goal is to win the competition so the other teams better watch out.’
