My Kitchen Rules’ Manu Feildel unleashes his most brutal critique to date after contestants’ ‘upsetting’ mistake: ‘You have no idea’

My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel unleashed a blistering critique of best mates Nick and Christian’s main course after they made a culinary faux pas.

The Melbourne team served up a swordfish dish to judges Manu and Colin Fassnidge – but forgot to sample it first, meaning the taste was left a lot to be desired.

‘You’re in the business, yeah? You didn’t taste it so you don’t know what you served to us, you got no idea. Hearing this from you is upsetting,’ he said.

Manu did not pull his punches when he told the pair all the things wrong with the dish.

‘A lot of seasoning is missing. There’s not enough salt and pepper. If you had one bite you would have known that and could have added it,’ he began.

‘I’m not understanding why you would start on the barbecue and then finish in the oven. For me, if you are gonna cook barbie you do it all the way through.’

‘And then you cooked the fish on a low temp and it’s spongy.’

Fellow judge Colin Fassnidge also expressed his disbelief the pair had not tasted their dish before serving it.

Nick and Christian paid the price for their ill-prepared dish by being scored disastrously low by both the judges and the fellow contestants, resulting in them dropping on the leader board.

Earlier this month, Manu slammed the last season of the hit Channel Seven cooking competition after producers tried to ‘sweeten’ the show.

For most of its history, MKR was known for the infighting among the contestants, and no season would be complete without a handful of outrageous ‘villains’.

But Manu, 49, says the ‘make-over’ for last year’s reboot was not a success.

‘We used to have a lot of drama in the old way of doing MKR and last year, we tried to get rid of all the drama and that didn’t work as well as we thought,’ the fan favourite said in an interview with Who magazine.

Speaking ahead of the season 13’s debut, Manu said fans this season can expect: ‘A lot of love, a little bit of drama and great food. Absolutely, better food this time around.’

Manu is once again be joined in the kitchen by judge Colin Fassnidge, 49. Meanwhile, famed celebrity chef Nigella Lawson will return for a guest spot judging finals week.
