  • Mom-of-three Eden Kim shared her trick on how to avoid bagging up shopping
  • The Michigan native revealed she places a laundry basket under her trolley
  • But employees said it can make their jobs harder – urging customers not to do it

An Aldi customer has revealed her effortless ‘hack’ for shopping in the grocery store – although employees are divided over the trick.

Mom-of-three Eden Kim took to TikTok to share how a laundry basket can be multifunctional – and has made her shopping experience even better.

According to content creator, using the basket allows her to bypass the bagging process when she does her family’s shopping.

The Michigan mom called the move her ‘favorite’ way to shop at the popular chain grocery store, which is known for its low prices, no-frills layout and lack of bags – asking customers to bring their own or buy reusable bags at the checkout.

‘Aldi’s laundry basket shopping hack is one of my favorite hacks that I use,’ she begins the clip as she pull an empty basket out of her car.

‘All you have to do is bring a laundry basket with you and put it in the back of your cart,’ the mom continued. ‘Then do your shopping as normal and then ask the cashier to just put your groceries directly into the basket.’

In the 14-second clip, which has been viewed over 400,000 times, Eden is seen placing the empty basket at the bottom of the shopping trolley

According to the mom, the trick ‘lets you skip the entire bagging process.’

‘I saw a video of this a few years ago and I’ve been using it ever since!!’ she wrote in the caption. ‘Makes my life so much easier.’

Although life may be easier for the mom-of-three, many TikTok users claiming to be Aldi workers said they are not actually allowed to bag any items – and Eden got lucky that her local Aldi does it for her.

‘DON’T DO THIS!’ one TikToker urged. ‘I worked at Aldi for years and this is a pet peeve for SO many employees. It slows us down. Just add it to the laundry basket after.’

‘As an Aldi employee we actually aren’t allowed to do that when checking people out. So you got lucky with your store,’ another added.

‘If you grab a box while you are there it’s the same thing except you don’t have to remember the basket,’ one person pointed out.

For some, it was more of a hindrance than a hack.

‘It gets so heavy though,’ a shopper complained. ‘I used to live on the third floor with no elevator and had to haul it up the stairs.’

But others were fans of the bagging move.

‘I leave the basket in my car and load my cart up and check out, put it back in the cart and unload in basket outside,’ one said.

‘As an Aldi worker as well, I love this, and if its too heavy, that’s not my problem lol,’ another chimed in.
