‘My wife’s a fan!’ Chris Hemsworth dismisses Angelina snap

When Chris Hemsworth was pictured next to Angelina Jolie at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, fans couldn’t resist asking what Elsa Pataky thought about the seating arrangement.

But the Australian actor, 34, laughed off the public response to the photo on Wednesday, joking with Ellen that his wife Elsa, 41, is ‘more threatened’ by the other person in the picture, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

Chris said: ‘His sense of humour and intellect and what he did with Thor 3 is bloody remarkable. And there’s a definite love for one another.’

Nothing to see here! Chris Hemsworth laughed off the public response to him being pictured with Angelina Jolie at the Golden Globes during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres this week

During the television interview, Chris bristled slightly when Ellen mentioned the headlines which followed his innocent photo with Angelina, 42.

She said: ‘People were making a big to-do about you sitting next to Angelina Jolie. They were acting… just because your wife didn’t make it, I guess she wasn’t there. They sat you next to Angelina and acted like it was some kind of “thing”.’

Chris replied: ‘See, you’ve done what the internet has done, which is you’ve cropped out my real “date”.’

At the moment, the full photo – which showed Chris, Angelina and Taika seated at the same table in the Golden Globes audience – was displayed in the studio.

‘There he is!’ Chris continued. ‘That’s our Thor 3 director Taika Waititi.

‘And, look, Angelina is incredible and wonderful. I’m a fan, my wife’s a fan, but she may be more threatened by that guy!

Earlier this week, Elsa herself couldn’t resist poking fun at the photo of Angelina and her husband-of-seven-years that had caused such a stir.

The Spanish actress, who stayed in Australia with the couple’s children while Chris attended the Globes, commented on Instagram: ‘What a great couple!’

She then cheekily added, ‘I mean you boys!’, referring to Chris and Taika.

On Tuesday, Chris took to Instagram to thank his ‘beautiful wife for hanging with the kids while (he) played dress ups and pretended to be cool.’

The Byron Bay-based couple married in 2010 and share three children together: India Rose, Sasha and Tristan.
