Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new long-term contract at Arsenal.

The 18-year-old left back, whose current deal expires next summer, had been subject of reported interest from Real Madrid.

But the teenager has committed his long-term future to the north London club, including a significant pay rise, after a stunning breakthrough campaign which saw him make 39 appearances across all competitions.

He only made his senior debut in September against Manchester City before going on to become a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Those performances earned Lewis-Skelly a first senior England call-up in March where he scored in a 2-0 win over Albania, becoming the youngest player in history to score on their full Three Lions debut. He now has three England caps in total.

Earlier this week, the defender was one of six players to be nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award alongside Ethan Nwaneri, Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez.

The news follows Arsenal’s announcement last week that Gabriel Magalhaes had signed a new four-year deal to 2029.

Meanwhile, the club’s talks with midfielder Thomas Partey over a new contract have hit a standstill.

Partey, whose deal expires at the end of this month, has been offered terms on a slightly reduced salary.
