Mystery as couple are found dead in their clifftop apartment

A couple have been found dead at their clifftop apartment in New South Wales.

The couple were found in their waterfront home in Soldiers Point in the Hunter Region, 204km north-east of Sydney.

Police believe the deaths may be linked to a possible suicide pact, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The couple are believed to be elderly and aged in their 70s.

Police visited the property after they were contacted by someone close to the couple via a letter, which said they may hurt themselves.

‘We can confirm there are two people deceased and we are investigating,’ a police spokesman said.

‘There is some indication that it may be a pact of some kind but until all the evidence is gathered we can’t say exactly what has happened.’
