Nadia Sawalha hits back at ‘feud’ rumours between her Loose Women co-stars

Nadia Sawalha squashed the Loose Women ‘feud’ rumours on Sunday as she admitted there is no bad blood between her fellow co-stars once the cameras stop.

The former EastEnders actress, 58, revealed they all ‘get on so well’ despite having heated debates on the ITV show and being known for clashing over topics.

The long-term panellist insisted there is no tension between the stars and they even have a laugh backstage together and in the ad breaks.

Nadia told The Sun: ‘There is no feud – I think it’s that thing where people always expect women must be arguing, we honestly get on so well.

‘When the audience are there and they see it get a bit heated, they will see us literally finish a topic and then go into the commercial break and then go “can I have one of your crisps”…we just laugh it off backstage.’

Nadia revealed the ITV daytime stars actually share an ‘intense’ friendship and bond because they share their ‘own experiences and own thoughts’ on the show and in meetings which has made them closer.

She continued: ‘I absolutely love being part of the panel, to know people over such a long period of time and the intensity. In our meetings there is no show until we’ve had a meeting – the show comes from our own experiences, our own thoughts, so to have an intensity of a friendship is incredible.’

Nadia gushed how she has made ‘great friends’ on the show and ‘never in a million years of had a friend like Kay Adams and Jane Moore’ if she hadn’t of joined because they would ‘never have come across each other’.

It comes after Denise Welch hit back at rumours of a feud with her Loose Women co-stars earlier this month.

Speaking to The Sun, the former Corrie star, 64, insisted that despite some ‘feisty debates’ on air, there is no ‘backstage feud’.

‘I’m not afraid to be passionate and committed about something, we all have different views, we’re great friends,’ she explained.

‘I do get upset that people are trying to make out that we’re always in some backstage feud.’

She added: ‘I haven’t fallen out with any of them in 20 years – but we have very feisty debates.’

Last month, Loose Women descended into chaos after Denise and Jane Moore locked horns in heated row about Prince Harry.

The panel were discussing a leaked excerpt from his biography Spare, in which The Duke of Sussex accused his brother Prince William of physical attack.

Denise furiously defended Harry declaring herself ‘team Harry and Meghan’ but was met by resistance from Jane who described his accusations as ‘hurtful.’

Denise told Jane she found it ‘strange’ that she was ‘so against Harry and Meghan’ given her years working as a royal correspondent.

‘Why shouldn’t Harry say his peace, Jane? I think he’s had to move away from a family, they’ve done it behind his back,’ she shot.

Jane cut in arguing that Harry was only looking ‘to make money’ before Denise fired back: ‘Jane, you talked to me about interrupting.’

‘The fact is the Royal Family make quite a bit of money themselves,’ she continued.

‘They have been leaking stories. We know they have. As soon as Meghan was seen as the People’s Princess, that was game over, because William and Kate have to remain in those positions.

‘Meghan was in those rooms on the global stage with charities, she didn’t do that just when she got married to Harry.

‘I think do what you like. Tell your story because I think it’s absolutely the worst thing that’s happened to them.’

‘Tell your story but not sell your story. Is it blind support or do you accept that they’ve made some mistakes,’ Jane responded.

Meanwhile it was reported in August 2020 that Denise had unfollowed Coleen Nolan after her manager branded Nadia Sawalha ‘nasty’ and a ‘witch’.

However, she is now following her co-star.
