A 91-year-old woman has praised her dog for helping her chase off a burglar after she confronted him stark naked.
Patricia Mulkeen was alerted to the intruder early on Tuesday morning when her 12-year-old Wheaten Terrier, Pepper, began barking.
Believing it to be a raccoon, Patricia grabbed a flashlight and went to see what was happening in her Yarmouth, Massachusetts home – much to the amusement of her husband, Jack.

He said, according to 7News: ‘My wife at 91 years old gets out of bed and she’s stark naked.
‘And here’s this young guy in his 20s looking at a naked 91-year-old woman.’
He added: ‘That’d be enough to make him faint – it’s a shock.’
Police said the intruder was Joseph Parent, 28, who has been charged with breaking and entering as well as drug possession.

Patricia said the man, upon seeing her, said, ‘Sorry, ma’am’ before leaving the home through the basement.
She said she wasn’t frightened by Parent – only surprised.
