Naomi Watts rocked a chic little blonde bob reminiscent of the 1920s when she was spotted out in New York this week.

The 53-year-old King Kong star cut a casual figure in an olive green jacket thrown over a white t-shirt and loose faded jeans.

She could be seen chatting cheerfully on the phone as she enjoyed a breath of fresh air and a walk with her dog Izzy.

Mover and shaker: Naomi Watts rocked a chic little blonde bob reminiscent of the 1920s when she was spotted out in New York this week

Naomi announced Izzy’s adoption on her Instagram page in May of 2020 at the height of the coronavirus lockdowns.

A year later she gushed to Hamptons.com that her idea of a perfect day in the Hamptons involved ‘Being woken up by my dog, Izzy, although she likes a lie in just as much as I do. Smaller bladder though.’

As far as her home life goes, Naomi shares her sons Sasha, 14, and Kai, 13, with her smoldering ex and fellow actor Liev Schreiber.

They amicably announced their separation in late 2016, whereupon it was rapidly eclipsed by the much more acrimonious split of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

By contrast Naomi and Liev have remained friendly, even going into self-isolation together in the Hamptons in 2020, enabling them both to be with the children.

Liev, who had a Ukrainian Jewish grandfather, recently traveled to Poland to work with World Central Kitchen and help prepare a Passover feast for Ukrainian refugees.

Meanwhile Naomi appeared on the Today show last month and looked back fondly on her 2005 version of King Kong.

King Kong, a remake of the legendary original 1933 film, was the first movie Peter Jackson directed after achieving his own icon status with The Lord Of The Rings.

During her new chat-show appearance Naomi showered praise on the ‘community’ of professionals she was part of while making the film in New Zealand.

‘We were working together for seven months and we became really close family, almost, great friends, and yeah, just kind of an iconic role, Ann Darrow,’ she said.

She dished that David Lynch, who directed her in her star-making role in Mulholland Drive, told her that ‘anyone that sits in the hand of King Kong “is a movie star for life!”‘
