Naomi Watts amused her followers on Wednesday when she shared a heartwarming clip of a dog ‘protecting’ her from King Kong.
The 56-year-old actress, who played one of the leading roles in the 2005 Peter Jackson of the same name, shared the hilarious clip to Instagram.
It captured a border collie enthusiastically watching the movie on TV.
The dog is seen reacting during a suspenseful scene in which the giant ape roars at Watts’ character in the Oscar-winning movie.
The beloved pooch furiously barking at King Kong as the ape growls at Watts’ character, before lunging at the television in an attempt to ‘protect’ her from the menace.
Naomi captioned the clip with some heartfelt words.

Many of Naomi’s followers quickly took to the comment section to gush over the amazing footage.
‘That’s hysterical,’ wrote Getaway star Catriona Rowntree.
‘Brilliant! The commitment to keeping his toy in his mouth is commendable. Dogs are such a joy!’ a second person added.
‘He’s proper protecting you,’ a third user chipped in.
In 2020, Naomi adopted her own rescue pup, Izzy, and is frequently seen taking the dog on walks through New York City.
She starred in the hit film King Kong back in 2005, alongside Jack Black and Colin Hanks.
Like the 1933 original, King Kong is a romantic adventure story about fortune hunters who discover a gigantic ape living on a mysterious island.
They capture the beast, return to New York and turn the poor creature into an ‘exhibit’.

In the story, the enormous primate, kidnaps and ‘falls in love’ with a would-be movie star played by Watts.
It’s his devotion to her that eventually seals his fate.
Naomi was nominated for Best Actress at the 2006 Australian Film Institute Awards, for her work on the movie.
It comes after Naomi exchanged vows with her husband Billy Crudup for the second time on June 8, almost a year after their modest first nuptials at a New York courthouse.
The King Kong star said ‘I do’ with Billy for a second time in a large ceremony in Mexico.
Videos shared on social media by Naomi’s brother Ben gave an insight into the lavish ceremony, with notable guests including Nicole Kidman and Isla Fisher.
Naomi’s child Kai, 15, and niece Ruby were bridesmaids, and also in the wedding party were Naomi’s son Sasha, 16, and Billy’s son William, 20.
