Victor Osimhen and Giovanni Di Lorenzo earned Napoli a 2-0 win over Sassuolo in the reigning Serie A champions first home match of the season.

Osimhen put Napoli ahead from the penalty spot in the 16th minute after Matteo Politano was brought down by Daniel Boloca.

Sassuolo’s task became harder when Maxime Lopez was shown a straight red card for dissent to the referee in the 51st minute.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo ensured Rudi Garcia’s side maintained their winning start to the season by doubling Napoli’s advantage in the 64th minute following a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia pass.
