Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly ruled out of Champions League last-16 clash against Barcelona
- Koulibaly recently returned to action after two months out with hamstring injury
- But the defender has not featured in the past three games for the Italian side
- Boss Gennaro Gattuso confirmed he had not been named in matchday squad
Napoli have confirmed Kalidou Koulibaly will miss Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 first leg against Barcelona.
The Senegalese defender recently returned to action after spending two months out due to a hamstring injury.
Koulibaly returned on February 9, playing the full 90 minutes of a 3-2 defeat at Lecce in Serie A.

But he has an unused substitute in the cup win at Inter and he was not involved in the league victories at Calgari and Brescia.
Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso said: ‘Koulibaly against Barcelona? He still has swelling, I prefer to stop him for 7-10 days and then evaluate how he feels physically.’
Gattuso does not have any other injury concerns, with new signings Diego Demme, Stanislav Lobotka and Matteo Politano named in the matchday squad.
