A new ‘light reflecting’ foundation from NARS has been taking the beauty world by storm since its release, attracting thousands of rave reviews and five-star ratings.

The $73 buy is the latest from the beauty giant, which has made waves previously with its award-winning Sheer Glow foundation and Radiant Creamy concealer.

The innovative makeup promises to show skin in ‘its best light’ and blends foundation and skincare to blur imperfections and smooth the look of textured skin.

It also claims to help to conceal blemishes, dark spots and redness and visibly improve the skin’s clarity after six weeks of daily use thanks to a blend of complexion-loving ingredients.

The formula’s star ingredients include biomimetic oat, which soothes and calms skin, Japanese lilyturf, which strengthens the skin’s barrier to retain moisture and cacao peptides, which helps defend against the negative effects of blue light.

It also contains milk thistle for preventing environmental damage and a ‘light reflecting complex’, which ‘helps to reflect light like a prism by addressing skin’s luminosity at the surface of the skin’.

The latter is combined with algae extract and Polynesian seawater to ‘boost the look of skin’s clarity’ and ‘immerse skin in moisture and minerals’.

The foundation is said to last all day and is available in 36 shades.

‘Makeup that looks like skin, acts like skincare and feels light as air,’ NARS promises.

It’s also made without mineral oil, silicone, talc, fragrance, alcohol, parabens, SLS & SLES, phthalates, PEG, or gluten.

Since the launch, the new release has had thousands of five-star reviews from thrilled customers who can’t believe the impact it’s had on their skin.

‘This foundation gave a nice full coverage and lasted all day, yet looked natural. At 8pm my partner asked if I was wearing a new makeup because it was by far the best my makeup has ever looked,’ one woman wrote.

YouTuber Blissfulbrii tried it out with fabulous results: ‘It did not disappoint,’ she said

‘The smoothest foundation I have used, it is so easy to apply and it looks flawless. It’s really easy to build up a few layers if you need it to last the whole day/night and it doesn’t end up looking too cakey. My skin feels like it can still breathe and doesn’t break out like it has with previous foundations,’ another added.

‘This foundation is perfect without any work, I’m in shock. My skin looks glowy, it looks like I barely have anything on. I can build it up (which I can never ever do) and I don’t look cakey. I could cry because in my 33 years I’ve never not had blotchy red skin that any professional could fix.’

The Light Reflecting foundation is available at Mecca, Sephora and on the NARS website.
