Natalie Bassingthwaighte says ending her marriage to Cameron McGlinchey was ‘scary but rewarding’ after going official with new girlfriend Pip Loth

Natalie Bassingthwaighte says ending her marriage to Cameron McGlinchey and going public with new partner Pip Loth has been ‘scary but rewarding.’

Natalie, 48, split with her former Rogue Traders bandmate Cameron in 2023 after 12 years of marriage, before revealing a new relationship with Pip Loth in April this year.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Natalie admitted that while it had been challenging helping children Harper, 14, and Hendrix, 11, adjust to the new normal, it had ultimately been a worthwhile experience.

‘I mean, it can definitely be scary, really breaking down some of those old patterns and traumas and delving into it,’ Natalie told the publication.

‘But at the same time, it can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.’

Natalie, who is set to star on the upcoming Channel Nine reality show Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, added she is proud of the person she had become.

‘It’s not even in the last year but I think in life, we go through so much – in relationships, in friendships, in just growing as a human and as a person,’ the former Neighbours star said.

Natalie also revealed that she was a constant work in progress, with self-reflection always high on the agenda.

‘I’ve done a lot of soul-searching and a lot of deep-diving over the last little while – and I’m still doing it, I’m not stopping,’ Natalie admitted.

‘I still have my regular therapy sessions and try and make sense of this crazy mind of mine and the life that I’ve had.’

Last August it emerged that Natalie had quietly split from her husband Cameron McGlinchey.

Natalie then revealed she was dating a woman in an interview with Stellar magazine on November 19, and later disclosed Pip’s name on Instagram 10 days later.

‘I’m in a beautiful relationship with a woman who makes my heart smile and makes me really happy,’ she revealed to the magazine.

During her Stellar interview, Natalie confirmed that Cameron was aware of her new relationship.

When media interest intensified about her private life, Natalie said she immediately rang her ex-husband in ‘hysterics’ in fear she might be outed.

‘He said, “It’s okay. This is your truth and you now have to sit in it and stand in it and own it,”‘ she revealed.

A friend of the soap star and her ex told Daily Mail Australia: ‘They were never really in a conventional relationship.

‘They both nested the kids in a happy home and have been able to come and go, sharing parenting and other responsibilities.

‘The way in which they have been able to stay friends has been impressive.’

Natalie and her husband married back in 2011, and met while they were in the band Rogue Traders together.

Rogue Traders formed in Melbourne in 2002, with Neighbours star Natalie joining them in 2004.
