Natalie Imbruglia, 48, shares rare photo with her secret child Max as he celebrates his 4th birthday

Natalie Imbruglia celebrated her son Max’s 4th birthday on Monday.

And The Torn hitmaker, 48, shared a rare photo with her young boy to Instagram to mark the special occasion.

In the sweet image, Natalie wore a paper crown as she sat alongside her son who had a large heart emoji to conceal his face.

‘How time flies. Can’t believe you’re 4yrs old already!!! Thanks to everyone who made his Birthday so special!’ she captioned the image.

The Australian-British singer dressed stylishly in a floral dress as she looked lovingly at her son while he enjoyed cake.

Natalie has kept a low profile in recent years, largely staying out of the spotlight to focus on her family.

The songstress welcomed Max via IVF in October 2019. She hasn’t publicly disclosed the identity of her child’s father.

In 2021, she told Stellar Magazine that she had always longed to be a mother.

‘Becoming a parent is the most incredible thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. It’s given me a sense of peace,’ Natalie told the publication.

However the Wrong Impression hitmaker went on to concede that rearing children ‘is not for everyone’.

‘There are stigmas out there for women that if they aren’t parents what does that mean for them?’ she said.

‘I’m also aware of the struggle a lot of women are still going through trying to attain that and what it feels like to be left behind.’

‘It’s important to acknowledge all the women out there, including the ones going, ‘Ugh, another mother talking about how happy they are.”

Natalie previously confessed that she felt something was missing from her life – so she turned to a sperm donor to help make it complete.

The Australian has also spoken of her joy at defying the odds by becoming a first-time mother in her mid-forties.

‘I’m used to pushing the laws of probability in terms of what I’ve done in life. I’ve always managed to do things that are unlikely or improbable’ she said.

The former soap star said motherhood is ‘truly magical’ and has filled the void in her life.

‘Looking back I had lovely friends, had been married, a beautiful home and a career that I was proud of,’ she told Baby magazine.

‘But I’d long been at the point where I knew something was missing and that thing became something I yearned for above anything else’.

The singer, known for her 1997 hit Torn, said she was ‘bowled over by the well-wishers’ and is trying to ‘savour’ the time with her baby son.

Natalie, who divorced Australian rocker Daniel Johns in 2008 after a four-year marriage, announced she was expecting on social media in 2019, telling fans: ‘No I haven’t swallowed a watermelon.

‘I’m expecting my first child… I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor.’
