‘I didn’t even know that’: Natalie Imbruglia is shocked to discover her Neighbours character has a son on the long-running soap
Natalie Imbruglia has been invited to return to Neighbours by the show’s official Twitter account.
The 46-year-old star – who played Beth Brennan in the Australian soap from 1992 to 1994 – was recently surprised to learn she has an on-screen son called Ned Willis and that he’s been on Ramsay Street for years.
During an interview with BBC Radio Wales on Tuesday, Natalie said: ‘I have a son? What! Oh my god, I didn’t even know that. That is brilliant.’

In response, the UK and Australian Twitter accounts for the long-running soap have invited Natalie to return to the show to meet her on-screen son, played by Ben Hall.
The UK ‘Neighbours’ account wrote: ‘Well, this is awkward. [laughing emoji] It must be time for a visit! @natimbruglia [eyes and heart emojis] (sic)’
Meanwhile the Australian account has also encouraged Natalie to make an unlikely return to the show.

The tweet read: ‘Looks like Beth is due for a visit in Erinsborough?’ Ned has been in Erinsborough since 2016, and while Natalie wasn’t aware about her on-screen son, the actress-turned-singer still has ‘really fond memories’ of the soap.
Natalie, who is now based in London, explained that her experience on ‘Neighbours’ helped her to make the move to Britain.
She said: ‘I learnt a lot and it’s the reason I’m here, because the success of that show got me to the UK and made me realise I wanted to live here and be here.’
