Natalie Portman will be making her triumphant return as Jane Foster in the upcoming, Thor: Love And Thunder, alongside stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.
But this go-around her character will transform into the female Thor, according to the film’s director Taika Waititi.

The big reveal was made during the panel portion of the Marvel Studios panel on day three of Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday.
Confirming the news with dramatic effect, Portman came out on stage and was given the Thor hammer, which got a rousing response from the adoring fans.
‘I’ve always had a little hammer envy,” she told the audience, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
The fourth installment in the franchise is based on Jason Aaron’s The Mighty Thor comics, which introduced readers to the female Thor.

The beginning: Portman’s Jane Foster first appeared in the September 1962 comics issue Journey Into Mystery
The actress appeared in the first two Thor movies – Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013) – but skipped out on the third film in the franchise, Thor: Ragnarock (2017).
Portman was last seen portraying Jane Foster in a cameo in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
The Jane Foster character was created by Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber and penciler Jack Kirby, and first appeared in the September 1962 Marvel Comics issue Journey Into Mystery.
Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to hit in theaters on November 5, 2021.
