The partner and children of Australian cricket star Nathan Lyon have escaped to Fiji for a holiday, in the same week he returned home to Sydney for the final Ashes Test.
Mel Waring took to Instagram on Monday to post happy snaps from the beginning of her overseas vacation, which she is taking with her two young children and a friend.
Lyon and Ms Waring’s relationship made headlines last month after a secret romance between the cricketer and a Perth real estate agent were revealed by Mail Online.
At the time Ms Waring said she was left ‘devastated’ by seeing pictures of her partner of ten years passionately kissing glamorous Perth real estate agent Emma McCarthy.
Seemingly keen to keep her distance from Lyon she boarded a flight for the luxurious island nation on New Year’s Day, coinciding with the return to Sydney of him and the rest of the Australian team.

The escape comes at a much needed time for Ms Waring who was left ‘devastated’ last month when Mail Online revealed the shock news of Lyon’s relationship with Perth real estate agent Emma McCarthy (the pair are pictured kissing)
Accompanied by a friend on the journey, Ms Waring shared photos showing her and her young children on-board the plane before later taking a helicopter transfer.
Australia’s top spin bowler has been touring the country since November, returning to Sydney this week for the final Test of the Ashes series.
News of Lyon’s relationship with McCarthy, who is the former flame of his Australian teammate Mitchell Marsh, broke during the third Test of the series in Perth.
Miss McCarthy was picking Lyon up from his team hotel in her $120,000 BMW 420i and heading to her four-bedroom home in the upmarket suburb of Mount Pleasant.
The pair stayed indoors for several hours, before Miss McCarthy drove him back to his hotel.
Later in the evening they enjoyed dinner with her parents at their home, returning back to her home, where they ended up spending the night.

The next morning, Miss McCarthy drove Lyon back to his hotel and the couple were spotted enjoying another kissing session in her car before he headed up to his room.
Friends of Lyon’s said his relationship with Ms Waring was over and he is ‘very much in love’ with Miss McCarthy.
But speaking with MailOnline at her doorstep following the revelations, Ms Waring denied she had split from Lyon and said she knew nothing of his other relationship.
Asked whether she was still with her long-term partner, she said: ‘I think seeing his car sitting in the drive way and his washing sitting here, that probably gives you enough of an idea.

‘We have two small children who I have to put first and unfortunately at the end of the day I’m the one who’s being f**ked around here.’
The mother-of-two, who met Lyon at a Canberra nightclub, said she was concerned about saying any more ‘because it could affect me at a later date if I need to go to court.’
She added: ‘I can’t jeopardise anything happening to my kids, this is hard enough.’
In the days following the revelations many of Australia’s cricketing WAGs came out in support of Ms Waring, saying she and Lyon were ‘not separated… as suggested’.
Lyon will be back in action on Thursday for the final Ashes Test against England.
