Nathan Peats is widely regarded as one of the toughest men in rugby league – but the footy star has revealed his softer side through an honest post thanking his partner and mother.
The New South Wales dummy-half tweeted out a lengthy message on Sunday night, admitting he has been selfish in helping raise his two young children and wanted to publicly praise the role women have had in his life.
‘It’s been awhile since I’ve looked after my two kids on my own. I’ve had to do that all day and currently still going. I don’t know how my partner and all the other mums out there do this everyday,’ the 27-year-old writes.

Tough-tackling Peats has two sons with his partner Jade, a two-year-old named Leyton and a five-month-old named Harley Reign.
The Gold Coast Titans star, who made his long-awaited State of Origin debut earlier this year, admitted his career has gotten in the way of him helping his partner with their kids.
‘I go to training and hang with my mates all day than (sic) come home and complain about how I’m tired from training or why is the house messy or hurry up and cook dinner,’ an honest Peats reveals.

He recounted what is a common day for many stay-at-home mothers, answering every beck and call of their children and never finding time for themselves.
‘I haven’t had a chance to do anything today, twice I’ve had to go to the toilet because I was about to pee myself and he was screaming. I’ve had to eat my food in 2 seconds and not enjoy it because one of the kids want something or the baby has fallen because he can’t hold himself up yet,’ Peats says.
‘There was a 40 minute period where they were both asleep and it’s nasty to say but thank the lord cause (sic) it was the only time I had to myself.’
The 27-year-old says he won’t take for granted the work his partner does for his children, and the woman who raised him.
‘To all the mums out there and especially my partner Jade and my mum, hats off to you legends.’
