Nathan Templeton makes Chung Hyeon and Kim Jong-un joke

Channel Seven presenter Nathan Templeton has boldly delivered a one-liner involving North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The sports reporter joked on Melbourne morning radio on Tuesday that the ruthless dictator comprehensively beat emerging star Chung Hyeon in a Korean Peninsula tennis showdown.

‘Just quickly on Chung, while he has become a bit of a star, he’s not the best player on the Korean Peninsula,’ Templeton told hosts on SEN Breakfast.

‘Apparently Kim Jong-un beat him 6-0 6-0.’

The South Korean’s unlikely rise to stardom has led to details about his life being revealed.

Among the emerging details is his compulsory stint just a few years ago in the South Korean military, which is technically still at war with their dictator-led neighbours.

Templeton admitted on Wednesday to stealing the joke after scrolling through Twitter moments before going on the show.

‘I’ve got to make a full declaration, I may have just scanned on Twitter before coming on air and stole the gag,’ he told the hosts on Wednesday morning.

He added: ‘It’s good publicity for me and my brand but it was stolen off Twitter.’

‘This bloke is becoming a bit of an embarrassment. First his massive Georgie Parker fail, caught stealing jokes from Twitter and now this,’ the person wrote.
