Native Deodorant sells mistletoe-scented deodorant

Nothing spoils a romantic moment like body odor. And nothing is more romantic during the holidays than a bit of dangling mistletoe. So, naturally, combining fresh-smelling pits with the festive plant should be the ultimate recipe for a little love this season.

At least, that seems to be the thinking behind Native Deodorant’s newest release. The company, which specializes in non-toxic deodorants, is selling a limited-edition holiday collection with some very Christmas-friendly scents.

Included in the box are three deodorants that smell like lemon cake, candy canes, and — yes — mistletoe.

Indie brand Native’s paraben-free, aluminum-free deodorants are made with ‘ingredient you can understand,’ like shea butter, beeswax, baking soda, coconut oil, and probiotics.

Some people might have a hard time understanding, though, why anyone would want their armpits to smell like mistletoe. (Those people might want to check in with the more Christmas-obsessed young women in their lives.)

The $30 Holiday Sample Pack includes three 2.65 oz. deodorant bars in the three holiday scents (lemon cake, candy cane, mistletoe), which come with green, red, and yellow bottles.

But while the lemon cake and candy cane smells both seem pretty self-explanatory, the mistletoe one is just a bit trickier — because real mistletoe doesn’t actually have a scent.

Native isn’t the first brand to offer something ‘mistletoe-scented’ for the holidays, though: There are plenty of candles, room sprays, and fragrance oils labeled that way.

The deodorant brand told DailyMail.com that theirs evokes the piney, fir smell of Christmas trees.

Over the summer, Native got experimental — and trendy — with another sampler pack of fun-smelling bars, this one with a brunch theme.

The Brunch Scents box contained deodorants that smelled like rosé, mimosas, and sangria.

Unsurprisingly, it sold out, with many customers going on a wait list to snag one — and even more taking to Twitter to talk about them.

‘It’s a great time to be alive,’ wrote one young woman. ‘Who would have thought deodorant could be so much fun!’ wrote another.
