- Ronan Farrow was set to appear on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC program Friday night but was cancelled at the last second
- Page Six reports that this is because he has been banned from appearing on the network by NBC News head Andy Lack
- Lack is reportedly upset over Farrow’s comments about the network refusing to run his Harvey Weinstein expose that was later published by The New Yorker
- NBC reps did not respond to multiple requests for comment
- Maddow spent her entire program speaking about the Mueller indictment
Ronan Farrow has been banned from appearing on NBC programs according to a new report.
Page Six claims that NBC News head Andy Lack is behind the decision, having grown angry with his former employee over comments he made about the network passing on his Harvey Weinstein expose.
Sources claims that this why Farrow was cancelled from Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show at the last second on Friday.
NBC reps did not return multiple requests for comment.
The last word: Ronan Farrow was set to appear on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC program Friday night but was cancelled at the last second (Farrow on Maddow’s show in October)
Going live: Maddow spent her entire program speaking about the Mueller indictment
Maddow spent all of Friday night discussing the indictment that was released by Robert Mueller late in the day.
It appears she was set to air a pre-taped program but had to change that plan in light of the news.
On Friday afternoon Maddow tweeted:’So much for my plan to take today off! See ya at 9pm ET, MSNBC…’
Farrow’s reporting was certainly used sparingly on NBC despite his major scoop, which detailed how President Trump allegedly covered up his affair with a former Playboy Playmate.
He appeared on ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN in person after breaking the story but not NBC, who gave the piece just 42 seconds of coverage on Today when it broke last week.
A big reason could be because of what happened last time he appeared on Maddow’s MSNBC show shortly after his Harvey Weinstein expose broke in the New Yorker.
He started off that interview by stating: ‘I’m glad you’re covering this Rachel.’
Later in the interview, Maddow asked: ‘Why did you end up reporting this story for The New Yorker and not NBC News?’
Farrow responded by stating: ‘You would have to ask NBC and NBC executives about the details of that story. I’m not going to comment on any news organization’s story that they did or didn’t run.’
