Neal Maupay is ‘undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Everton’

Neal Maupay is ‘undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Everton’ and could be available for the Toffees’ clash with Brentford tomorrow

Brighton’s Neal Maupay is currently undergoing a medical at Everton ahead of a potential move.

According to reports in Sky Sports, the deal is very close to completion and could see him available for the Toffees’ clash with Brentford tomorrow.

The Frenchman has been a key player for Brighton, scoring 26 goals in 102 Premier League games since 2019.

Everton will be keen to strengthen their attacking options after losing Dele Alli, and doubts remain over the future of Anthony Gordon.

Approaches for Maupay were also made by Nottingham Forest and Fulham, but he is thought to be keen on Everton after speaking to Frank Lampard.

The 26-year-old has spent the past five years in English football. He began with two seasons at Brentford, including one where he scored 25 Championship goals, before moving to Brighton for £20 million.

He has struggled to match his Championship form in the top flight, but has still been the Seagulls’ top scorer in his time there.
