Neale Whitaker says Australia’s obsessed with renovating

He’s a long-standing judge on The Block and hosts new renovation show Love It Or List It.

And on Sunday, Neale Whitaker revealed why we just can’t get enough of home improvement style shows.

Speaking to the Courier Mail the expert said: ‘We’re a nation obsessed with real estate and now we’re equally obsessed with the way our homes look. It’s fantastic!’

‘I might be biased but I think we make the best reno shows in the world in Australia and they’ve given us a real appetite for all things real estate, renovation and interior design,’ said Neale. 

And ratings support his theory, with Neale’s first episode of Love It Or List It gaining the largest audience for a series launch on Foxtel’s Lifestyle channel. 

As for The Block, it may be about to wrap up its thirteenth season but its audience figures are higher than ever.

Speaking to the Herald Sun in August, The Block’s host Scott Cam opened up about why he thinks the show continues to be so successful every year.
