Neighbours: Olympia Valance returns to Ramsey Street – will sister Holly Valance join too?

Olympia Valance has confirmed she will be returning to Ramsay Street for the Neighbours finale after it was axed in February. 

The 29-year-old model played much-loved character Paige Smith in the series, leaving the beloved soap in 2018 after four years.

The news comes just days after executive producers of Neighbours announced that two of the show’s most famous stars, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, would share the screen on the iconic soap one last time.

Announcing her planned return to Neighbours on Instagram, Olympia lovingly re-called her time on the show.

‘Neighbours has always felt like home to me,’ the dark-haired beauty told Greek publication Neos Kosmos.

 ‘There is a reason why everyone refers to Neighbours as the best training ground in the world.’

She said news of the show’s cancellation in March, following the loss of its main UK broadcast partner Channel 5, left her extremely sad.

‘I feel like I grew up on Neighbours…it’s incredibly special to step back into the shoes of Paige as Australia farewells it’s most iconic television program,’ she said. 

Olympia did not mention whether Holly Valance, her half-sister and fellow Neighbours alum, would be joining her in the finale.

Holly, now 38, first appeared on Neighbours in 1999, and had a career as a successful pop star and actor after leaving the show in 2002.

The sisters share the same father, Rajko Vukadinović.

Elsewhere in the interview Olympia, who is engaged to former AFL star Thomas Bellchambers, said that the couple would be spending their honeymoon in Greece after the couple marry later this year. 

Neighbours executive producer Jason Herbison recently paid a touching tribute to Kylie and Jason and said they were excited about their grand return.

‘Scott and Charlene are the ultimate Neighbours couple,’ he said on Instagram.

‘It would not feel right to end the show without them.’

The experience of filming the episode was an emotional one for the pair and also for the show’s production team, he said.

Two million Australians and almost 20 million viewers in Britain tuned in to watch Donovan’s Scott Mitchell and Minogue’s Charlene Robinson tie the knot in episode 523, aired in 1987. 

Details of the final episode – number 8,903, airing August 1, are tightly under wraps.
