Former Neighbours star Peter O’Brien has made the heart wrenching decision to put his family home up for sale.
The 64-year-old actor grew up in the modest four-bedroom, two-bathroom Adelaide home which is located in the seaside suburb of Glenelg 11kms from the CBD.
No price has been listed for the cosy dwelling which O’Brien’s late parents purchased in the 1960’s.
However, real estate sales agents have estimated the value of the property to be $650,200 ahead of its auction on October 27.
O’Brien told the Advertiser on Sunday that his parents, Betty and Jack, snapped up the cosy pad originally as a holiday getaway.
‘It was two semis at the time and we’d stay in half and rent out the other half, and eventually we took the whole thing over,’ he explained.
The Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries actor also admitted that parting with the home will be difficult.
O’Brien said that the cottage holds many happy memories of his university days and school years.
