Nervous dog who was rescued from streets of Turkey ‘can’t stop smiling’ in her new home
An adorable dog ‘can’t stop smiling’ after being rescued from the streets in Turkey, her new owner has shared.
The sweet pup – called Kit – who was missing all the fur on her stomach and neck when first found, now looks happier and healthier in her North Carolina home.
Cute clips of the tiny Golden Retriever on social media – posted by her new owner Lindsay Paluba (@hangingwith_henry) show her grinning for the camera as she wags her tail.
‘Once she found her bed inside, she would quickly run over to it and not move,’ Lindsay told The Dodo.
‘It was definitely a safe place for her.’

Her new carer explained that while Kit was hesitant at first, it only took her a few days to warm up to her new surroundings – and her three ‘fur siblings’.
‘She loves following them around, tail wagging… think they help her feel safe,’ Lindsay added.
Now, Kit enjoys rolling around in the grass and playing ball.
The pup’s new owner also revealed that she had to have all her front tooth pulled as they were worn down when she was found, making for ‘the most perfect gummy smile’.
Lindsay documented Kit’s journey in a sweet clip on Instagram.
‘POV: Your new rescue dog can’t stop smiling now that she is home,’ she wrote in a montage of her growing confidence, starting with nervous grins from her bed to excited beams by the poolside.
While timid, it’s clear that Kit is becoming progressively more open to affection as she can be seen gently offering a friendly paw up to Lindsay.
The video has more than 944,000 likes with thousands of comments remarking their shock that animals can face such mistreatment.

‘Poor thing looks like she was abused or hit a lot hence the nervous eyes at first,’ one penned. ‘Thank you for rescuing!’
‘How can anybody give that up to a shelter?’ a second asked.
‘The way that some animals get abandoned, abused and discarded breaks my heart,’ a third remarked.
‘I genuinely will never understand a human being that can do that to another living creature, they are just scum…’

In another social media post from last month, Linsday added that she is still missing a lot of hair due to a ‘chronic yeast infection that she has most likely had for years’.
But she’s now ‘on the mend’ thanks antibiotics, antifungals and everyday baths.
‘We cannot wait to help her heal from the inside out and to watch her continue to blossom,’ she penned in the heartfelt caption.
‘Welcome to the family Kit Kat, we love you.’
