Network Ten releases first Bachelor 2018 teasers

Network Ten have signalled a desire to make The Bachelor 2018 more about laughs than lust.

On Wednesday, the broadcaster released the first promotional footage for the beloved dating show, airing two comedic teasers during MasterChef.

In the first, Nick, 30, channelled the famous nude rose petal scene from American Beauty, seen lying in a bed of rose petals, with only his genitals covered.

‘The new Badgelor is a real beauty’ a voiceover announcer said, until being interrupted by the sound of a leaf blower.

The invisible blower started blowing leaves off of Nick’s crotch, forcing him to cover his modesty with his hands.

‘Go easy mate, I’m in me birthday suit ‘ere,’ the former Rugby star casually pleaded.

In a second teaser, Nick was shown perched in a giant acrylic love heart prop, which was raised several metres off the ground.

He jokingly suggested the one thing he was looking for in a woman was ‘a ladder.’

Speaking to News Corp on Tuesday, the 30-year-old sports star revealed that the upcoming series will be quite ‘funny’.

Without spoiling too much, Nick says ‘there are a lot of funny points’ on his upcoming run on The Bachelor.

He added emphatically: ‘It is going to be a cracking show I reckon!’

The ‘Honey Badger’ described his time filming the show as ‘weird’ and made a comment about division between the diverse cast of bachelorettes.

Nick insisted it was odd to discover the women were very passionate about which co-stars they ‘loved’ and which they ‘hated,’ with very few divided on their opinions.

Despite the adversity, he claimed his priority was to remain as authentic as possible.
