New Home and Away star Tristan Gorey promises fans a ‘high-stakes’ storyline involving his character

An up-and-coming actor set to join the cast of Home and Away has promised viewers a gripping ‘high-stakes’ storyline for his character.

Mystery Road: Origin star Tristan Gorey, 28, plays Dr Levi, who will be joining the show on Tuesday and Tristan said he will be making a memorable entrance.

‘Levi comes in during a really high-stakes storyline. He’s fighting to save the life of a central character,’ he told Seven.

‘It’s the start of a big storyline that will go on for a while and will certainly have fans gripped.’ 

The actor was living in Perth when he auditioned for the show and upon being cast he relocated to Sydney to be closer to filming.

Tristan is a professionally trained actor who studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has previously worked in voice-over, narrating the Disney documentary series Shipwreck Hunters Australia.

Fortunately, Tristan quickly became close to his Summer Bay colleagues who have made the effort to make him feel welcome in his new home town.

‘Everyone kind of comes to the kitchen to hang out and chat. It’s our first port of call and usually our last where we all say goodbye.’

Earlier this year, it was reported that former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok said she would love to appear on the long-running soap again. 

The 40-year-old actress, who portrayed Dani Sutherland on the show from 2000 to 2004, said she would happily return for a cameo part.

‘I always would have said I would never have come back to Neighbours or a soap at all, but I thought it was really cool and like nostalgia,’ she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

‘[I would return] for a week, sure, why not?’ she declared. ‘I would probably give a nostalgic nod to Home and Away for sure.’ 

However, fans may be disappointed to hear that Tammin’s not looking for a permanent role. 

‘I would never do it long term just because the hours are so gruelling, and I just wouldn’t spend time with my kids,’ she added.

It’s been more than two decades since Tammin first appeared on Home and Away, yet she revealed she still remains in contact with some of her former co-stars.
