The new owner of the Los Angeles home where Matthew Perry lived and died has broken her silence on the $8.55million purchase.
Sharing stills from beside the same pool where the actor’s body was found, 42-year-old real estate developer Anita Verma-Lallian gushed about how ‘excited’ she was to share the news – days after it emerged the home was being bought.
First conceding the property has ‘a history’, she recalled how she and her husband had fallen in love with the home’s ‘features’ – citing ‘the view of the Pacific Ocean.’
The view can only be fully experienced in the infinity pool the Friend star was found in a little over a year ago, face-down following a Ketamine overdose.
‘We knew it was “the one” and decided to write an offer on it immediately,’ she continued – sharing photos from just feet away.
‘We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing,’ she added further – producing snippets of the pool-side procession.

First conceding the property has ‘a history’, she recalled how she and her husband had fallen in love with the home’s ‘features’ – citing ‘the view of the Pacific Ocean.’ The view at night can be seen here, in what proved to be Perry’s final photo
‘We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life,’ she continued.
‘[H]is immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people.’
The long-winded post proceeded to point out how she and her husband were planning to keep the tony property in Pacific Palisades mostly as it is, aside from the odd makeover.
‘The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love,’ the woman who has been featured in publications like Forbes, wrote.
‘We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The batman logo in the pool is definitely staying.’
While many of the comments under her post were positive, some made reference to Perry’s tragic death at the multi-million dollar property.
One person wrote: ‘No hate or anything but did you have to take pics of the EXACT spot he was found.’
Another said: ‘Congrats! Haunted.’ While a third added: ‘This is our Matty Perry’s house and his spirit will always will be there.’
The latter assertion, capped by a laughing emoji, had been in reference to one of the many instances of Batman imagery present across the 3,500-square-foot home – an ode to his favorite superhero.
The sitcom star consequently would refer to himself as ‘Mattman’ in social media posts – including the nighttime snap of him inside the pool posted on October 23, 2023.
The photo would prove to be his last, and within five days, the man who made waves as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the late 90s and early 2000s program was pronounced dead.

Perry had bought the four-bedroom back in 2020, before living there for more than three years.
At the time, it cost $6 million – with Verma-Lallian paying a premium four years later.
In her post, she said she plans to use the property as a ‘vacation home’, as she currently resides in Paradise Valley – a posh mountain town east of Phoenix.
There, she runs Camelback Productions, a company she bills as the first female- and South Asian-owned film production company in the state.
She founded it following a successful stint in real estate, which began in 2007 at, a leading Phoenix-based land banking and residential land development company owned by her family.

She wrote of the house on Thursday: ‘It’s a piece of paradise that is filled with light and the perfect vacation home for us.
‘Can’t wait to make new memories in it.’
Perry’s death, meanwhile, was ruled accidental due to the acute effects of Ketamine, days after his very last Instagram post was a shot of him enjoying the hot tub that he died in with the lights of the city twinkling behind him.
Contributing factors in his death were given as drowning and coronary artery disease.
