Rise of the ‘triangle’: New swimwear pose is being used by Australian influencers to lengthen and tone their torsos – with impressive results

  • A new Instagram trend is making its mark online by way of Australian women
  • Some of the social media app’s top influencers are posing as ‘triangles’
  • It involves holding one or both arms up against the back of your head
  • The curve it creates leans out your torso and makes your arms appear slimmer

Australians are embracing a new swimwear pose dubbed the ‘triangle’ in a bid to flaunt their assets at the best possible angle.

With summer heating up Down Under there are plenty of women flocking to the beach in skimpy bikinis, hoping to get the perfect shot to upload to social media.

And it seems like almost everyone has found the benefits of raising one arm – or both – and holding the back of their head in an angular fashion.

Creating that triangle shape between your elbow, shoulder and head elongates the torso and lengthens the arm, making for a leaner photo angle.

It’s most often used while standing up but some, like Olivia Mathers, have perfected the stance while sitting down on a lounger.

If you’re extra keen to show off your ample cleavage you can ‘double triangle’ by hoisting both arms into the air.

Coupled with a pair of bikini bottoms that sit high up on the waist – which lengthens the legs – this pose will easily make you look gym honed without spending hours pumping iron.

American celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner have been known to test out the triangle in their photos, with the Kardashian clan even working hard to pull it off in the snow.

Proving it’s an all-weather occasion ensure you keep your hand closest to your head relaxed so it doesn’t look like you’re attempting to salute.

Hold your other arm aloft or against a wall to really accentuate your curves.
