New York City hotel opens an Elf-themed suite through Christmas

A New York City hotel is embracing the Christmas spirit with a special suite redecorated to pay tribute to the 2003 movie Elf.

The room, which will be open throughout the month of December at Club Wyndham Midtown 45 in Manhattan, would make Buddy the Elf himself ecstatic.

For prices starting at $399 a night, lucky guests can sleep under a ceiling of paper snowflakes and popcorn garlands, bathe in a bathroom that looks like a giant Christmas gift, and chow down on all of Buddy’s favorite foods, from candy to Pop-Tarts.

The room sleeps two to four — with two fitting on a pull-out couch — and guests also get free admission to two popular Buddy hangouts: the Empire State Building and tickets to the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink.

The room itself is truly magical, with a living room area totally decked out in red and green.

Besides a trimmed tree in the corner with presents underneath, there are toy trains, a giant nutcracker, and paper snowflakes and popcorn strung from the ceiling.

Behind the couch is a wall entirely made of presents.

The bedroom has similar ceiling decor, red and green throw pillows, snowy white blankets, and fake snow on the window sill. It also has a present wall around the television.

The bathroom, meanwhile, is just about the most festive place anyone could ever imagine using the toilet. Green garlands, white snowflakes, and red ribbons adorn the walls and surfaces.

Finally, the kitchenette area is Buddy’s dream come true, stocked up with all of his favorite foods including  spaghetti, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, Pop-Tarts, cookie-dough rolls, M&Ms, and soda.

‘Every detail of this Elf-inspired suite was designed to put families in awe from the moment they walk in,’ Noah Brodsky, chief brand officer for Wyndham Destinations, said in the press release.

‘Visiting New York City during the holidays is at the top of many travelers’ bucket lists. We think there’s no better way to do it than to get families immersed into Buddy the Elf’s whimsical Christmas world.’
